Our mission is to fund the goals of The Blue Ribbon Foundation. These goals are... Tuition Assistance: Annually the school provides tuition assistance from its operating budget to provide financial relief for families who request and qualify for that assistance. The foundation will provide a portion of its income for that financial aid. Technology: The cost to remain current with instructional technology software and hardware for computer assisted learning, communications and art remain under funded. Generous donors have helped, and there is now a laptop lab, and there are SMART boards in every grade 3-8 classroom. There is still a need for more technology. Advance Science and Mathematics Initiatives: Advancement in these curricula will provide opportunities and personnel to achieve a more competitive and vigorous early preparation of students, hopefully stimulating their interests for future professional education in mathematics and science. Arts and Language: The Chapel School is committed to offering a quality Spanish program to all students in preschool through Grade 8 as well as expanding and striving for excellence in Music, Drama and Art

Each year at least one education opportunity is underwritten in Gary’s memory as students at the Chapel School explore the beauty and awesome power of God’s creation.

The Carol and Christopher Kinghan GIVING HEARTS Memorial Scholarship Given annually to a deserving Chapel School student entering the Chapel School 6th grade who exemplifies a spirit of giving and helping others.
About the scholarship:
Christopher Kinghan was born on March 16, 1988. He baptized and confirmed at Village Lutheran Church and also attended The Chapel School. Christopher died unexpectedly on January 5, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Christopher’s life was characterized by joy and love towards others. His mother, Carol, and the Kinghan family, set up the CHRISTOPHER P. KINGHAN Heart of Giving Scholarship to remember Christopher’s legacy and to encourage a deserving Chapel School student entering the Chapel School 6th grade who exemplifies Christopher's love of giving and helping others. On July 31, 2014, after a long battle with cancer, Carol too passed away. Her family grieved her loss but celebrated her awesome life and the eternal life that she now shares with her son, Chris, and all the faithful departed. To remember bot Carol and Chris and their joyful hearts, the Scholarship has been permanently renamed "The Carol and Christopher Kinghan GIVING HEARTS Memorial Scholarship". The recipients of the scholarship both honor the memory of the dearly loved mother and son and also demonstrate joyful hearts in their generation through their Chapel School education and their lives of service to the world.
